How many of y’all celebrated National Wear LJ Day and the first day of Spring this year?! We loved seeing all of the fabulous LJ Day and Easter photos that you shared with us in the past few weeks, so we wanted to give you a big thank you for that!

Since it’s officially spring, we wanted to share with y’all some of Team LJCO’s favorite things about the season! We asked everyone “What is your favorite thing about Spring?”, and this is what some of them had to say!

Lauren: My favorite thing about spring is being outside!! I get so inspired by just sitting outside and experiencing all of the amazing things about springtime in the South. I love sitting outside with my sketch book and designing new dresses for the following spring… I was actually outside all morning doing just that! (Spring 2017 is already off to a great start!!)

Jonas: When I think of spring my immediate thoughts are of warmer weather, flowers blooming, and golf. Once the warm weather arrives the daily attire of shorts, sandals, and board shorts get pulled out from hibernation; and begins the visits to all the natural beauty around us: the Buffalo River, Devil’s Den, and Beaver Lake. Spring in northwest Arkansas is about getting outside and enjoying all the activities the natural state has to offer.

Tarah: Longer days and flowers blooming…but I could live without the terrible allergies that come with those flowers!

Travis: My favorite things about spring are dogwood trees blooming, the smell of cut grass, thunderstorms, and becoming a claritin junky. Also, in Alabama it’s been spring for most of winter.

Morgan: My favorite thing about spring is Daylight Savings Time! Your day feels like it goes on forever, so you feel like you can do a lot more in your day! 🙂

Chad: My favorite thing(s) about Spring in no particular order are: Spring brings longer days, baseball at Baum Stadium, crawfish boils, the return of the local Farmer’s Market, after-work patio beers, The Masters, shorts and no socks, backyard grilling, a new golf season, and tax refunds.

Jordan: When I think of spring I think of flowers blooming, longer days, going to the drive-in movie, and farmer’s markets. And of course Reese’s eggs and Starburst jelly beans!

Y’all. Spring 2016 is launching in TWO DAYS! We can’t contain our excitement! Every single product in this collection has had hours of thought and detail poured into them, and it’s definitely our best season yet!

We chose to have our huge Spring 16 photo shoot in Charleston, South Carolina, and we’re so happy that we did! Charleston is full of Southern charm, cobblestone streets, and beautiful plantation houses straight out of our daydreams. We had SO much fun exploring the stunning city and getting to play on the beach for four days in the warm weather! The pictures reflect everything that we envisioned for Spring 2016, so we hope y’all love them, too!

Today we’re sharing a little bit of our inspiration for how we dreamed our spring shoot to be, and we’re so happy with the amazing results! Check out our inspiration board and a one of our favorite pictures from the shoot, and mark your calendars for the huge launch this Sunday at 2pm CST!

Scallops, Please!

Y’all.. Can you believe that we’re only one week away from the launch of the LJ Spring 2016 Collection?! Our hearts can barely take the anticipation because we’re SO incredibly excited to finally share all of the fun and new stuff with you! We think y’all are going to love it!

With that being said, this is our final Sneak Peek Sunday blog, and it’s definitely our best yet! Say hello to your new favorite dress… The Landry Dress! This new silhouette features a scalloped hem around the neckline and hemline, and we’re in love! It’s perfect with a flattering silhouette, an easy to wear style, and it’ll make any girl who wears it the star of the show! We can’t wait to start wearing the Landry to every single event! Snow Daze

Now that the holidays are over and the weather is finally cold enough, we’re patiently awaiting our very first snow day of the year! Some of y’all may have already had your fair share of snow, but here in Arkansas, it’s just now becoming an idea!

There’s absolutely nothing better than looking out the window in the morning and seeing fresh, bright snow all over the ground. No matter how old you get, it’s still exciting to think about an entire day at home to do as you please, whether it’s playing in the snow, or staying in your pajamas – all. day. long. – which we totally support!

In case you’re already experiencing lots of snow in your hometown, we wanted to give y’all some new ideas on how to stay entertained indoors when the forecast calls for snowflakes!

Make some homemade hot chocolate! Hot chocolate is a staple for any and all winter weather, so snow days are definitely no exception! We like to always keep hot chocolate mix handy (you never know when you’ll need it right?!), but sometimes the cold weather just calls for something homemade! We’ve done the research for you, and found an easy peasy recipe from Unskinny Boppy that is just delicious, AND includes ingredients that almost everyone would already have in their house! Test this one out, or come up with a recipe all your own! And don’t forget the toppings! You can always add marshmallows, candy canes, or chocolate chips to make your hot cocoa that much sweeter!

Somewhat obvious, but still a great snow day activity, you can always binge-watch your favorite tv show or movie, or even pick out a new one to start watching! With an entire day of uninterrupted viewing, you could finish up the show you’ve been watching, or finally watch that movie you’ve been dying to see forever! We’re totally obsessed with How to Get Away With Murder, Gossip Girl, and Scandal right now! Snuggle down with a blanket (like this ultra-soft LJ Tailgate Blanket) and get to watching!

If you’re not into Netflix, then how about reading your favorite book? When it’s gloomy outside, it’s the best time for staying cozy all day with a good page-turner. We shared our favorite reads for summer a while back, but they’re great reads any time of year! In case you’ve already completed that list, we also found a couple more that may just be the perfect book for winter! The Girl on the Train is a thriller, so if you’re into Gone Girl-esque stories, then this may be the one for you! A Man Called Ove is also very highly recommended as a heartwarming story that’ll make you smile! If those aren’t your style, pick up a classic that you’ve been “meaning to read” forever and finally make it happen! We love Pride and Prejudice or Jane Eyre!

When all you want to do is relax, look no further than the newest trend to sweep the nation, adult coloring books! We have to admit, we were skeptical at first, but we’ve definitely jumped on board! These fun little books are perfect for clearing your mind and helping you relax after a long day! You can find these gems almost anywhere now, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, but be sure to grab one fast because they’re in high-demand!

And lastly, the most “snow day” snow day activity we have… Make snow ice cream! Now we know how that sounds, but believe us, it’s incredible! Our writer, Jordan, has made it with her family every year since she was little, so she was able to find a good recipe online similar to what she made back then! We’ve linked the recipe here for the best vanilla snow ice cream from The Kitchen is My Playground, so be sure to try it out!

Shifting into Spring

Another week, another Sneak Peek Sunday preview, and we’ve gotta say we’re very excited to share this one with y’all!

Our favorite thing about launching a new collection is that we finally get to share the labors of all of our hard work with y’all, and it is so exciting! We’ve been giddy to start sharing these previews for weeks now, because it means we’re one step closer to launching the full collection!

This week, we’re featuring two of our new designs from the LJ Private Collection: the Avery and the Harper! These two darling shift dresses are brand new to Lauren James, and we’re in love! The classic silhouettes and flattering cuts make both of these dresses a treasure that you’re definitely going to wanna wear all year long!

With all the new color options coming for spring, these dresses are a MUST for your spring (and summer and fall and winter) wardrobe!
