When we started Lauren James in 2013, we had the vision to build a brand that had nationwide appeal with hometown charm. In that spirit, we decided to open a small location on Dickson Street in Fayetteville, AR in September of 2014.
I remember painting the walls ourselves and hanging lights we had bought from Home Depot. We didn’t know anything about retail, but we did know a thing or two about hard work and persistence. We knew we wanted a local spot to call our own and showcase what we were building as a part of the bigger vision of Lauren James
As we’ve continued to grow and expand, our strategy has shifted. We’ve decided to focus our efforts on our online growth and presence. It’s crazy how things change so quickly today; especially in retail.
We’ve decided to close our Dickson St. location and reallocate our resources to our digital and creative marketing teams. While we’re sad about closing our first location, we’re excited about our future and the opportunities we are creating for our employees and loyal LJ customers!
We will continue to have a presence in our hometown with our corporate HQ right off the square here in Fayetteville! We will house our creative, marketing, design & e-commerce teams in that location!
As we close this chapter and begin the next, we look forward to serving and thriving in the ecosystem here in Northwest Arkansas. Stay tuned and Woo Pig Sooie!
