This season we are going mad for plaid! Plaid is perfect for any fall or winter occasion. Today, Lucy from Daily Dose of Prep is showing how she styled the Plaid Wrap Skirt for the holiday season.
Each holiday season I always try to set my best foot forward when it comes to style. Thanksgiving and Christmas bring plaids, stripes, deep rich tones, glitter, and soft sweaters. This Thanksgiving, I set out to find the most perfect plaid skirt I could, and my winning ticket was the Lauren James Plaid Wrap Skirt.
I know this time of the year gets extremely busy for most. We are all pulling out our recipe boxes, creating Christmas lists, planning parties and dinners, and beginning our holiday shopping. It seems like from November 1st through December 25th we never seem to stop moving. Another thing we are trying to solve is the mystery of what we will be wearing to these fun and festive events. Well ladies, look no further because Lauren James has done it again and has created something wonderful with this plaid wrap skirt.
This year, my LJ skirt in Ivory Plaid is in the spotlight. This plaid wrap skirt fits incredible around my hips creating a flattering shape while not hugging too much. It also hits the perfect spot on my leg. The wrap is technically a “faux wrap” ensuring that the brisk autumnal drafts won’t blow the front fabric around. This skirt is fully lined and made of 100% cotton flannel, making it so soft.
The bow on the left hip adds a fun, flirt, and feminine preppy touch which I always love. I think this ivory plaid color scheme is perfect for Thanksgiving and makes for the perfect ensemble to wear to your Turkey Day Dinner. I styled the skirt with my favorite cashmere turtleneck. The shade of the sweater matches the ivory background perfectly. I wanted to keep the sweater subtle so the skirt could shine. For accessories, I kept everything pretty simple. I always wear a pearl bracelet, pearl earrings, and a gold watch. I think they’re classic staple items every girl should have on deck in her jewelry box. They are the epitome of class. Finally, for shoes, I went the dressier route and styled a classic pair of black block heels to top it all off. If you want to go for a more casual look, styling the look with riding boots or loafers is sure to do the trick.
This wrap skirt comes in three different color schemes and is going fast so make sure you get your hands on one before it’s too late. This ivory is a classic for Thanksgiving, but if you’re searching for something with a little more Christmas flair, the red plaid is a great choice. The navy blue is another great pick and looks fantastic with a black turtleneck. What’s even better is that this skirt is very affordable. At $58 the plaid wrap skirt is a timeless item to add to your wardrobe for years to come.
This skirt is a timeless classic, transformed to fit modern trends. It truly is one that will never go out of style and is one that every prepster needs in her closet. Make sure to spice it up with your favorite baubles and heels. In this skirt, you are sure to be a smashing success this Thanksgiving – and don’t forget to show up with pie!
